OUR STORY

Name for family. Built for yours.

Belleston Residence is where exceptional care meets the genuine feeling of home.

"Aging does not mean diminishing. The final chapters can be among the most beautiful if the right people are paying attention."

WHERE IT BEGINS

Thirty years in the making.

Belleston is named after the children of its founders, Darla Thao and Toua Xiong. Not as a sentimental gesture but as a declaration. A declaration that everything inside these walls will be held to the standard of love. That the people who live here deserve the same devotion any parent gives a child.

Darla and Toua have spent more than thirty years inside that belief. Thirty years of showing up in homes, in facilities, in the spaces between learning what it truly means to support another person through the seasons of their life. They have seen the gap between what assisted living often is and what it genuinely could be. And they decided to close it.

Belleston Residence opens Fall 2026 in Plymouth, Minnesota. It is a boutique assisted living community designed from the ground up to feel like something different because it is. Every room, every care interaction, every detail of daily life here has been shaped by one question: what would we want for our own family?

The answer is this place.

Care at Belleston is genuinely personal. Meaning the people who look after you already know you. Your preferences, your history, the way you take your morning coffee. The home is genuinely beautiful, meaning the environment itself communicates: you are worth this. And the community is genuinely alive meaning life does not pause here. It continues, with grace and intention, exactly as it should.

For the families who have been searching: we know what that search has cost you. We built this so it could end here.

The art of living well.
This is what we are here to create.

MEET THE FOUNDER

A residence shaped by devoted care.

CO-FOUNDER · DIRECTOR OF CARE

Darla Thao

Darla has spent her career in direct care. Not managing it from a distance, but doing it. She has been the one in the room at 2am, the one who remembers birthdays, the one who knows that a resident who seems withdrawn might just need someone to sit with them for a few minutes.

Her philosophy is simple: care is not a service you provide. It is a relationship you build. Everything at Belleston; the staffing model, the daily rhythms, the way families are welcomed in flows from that belief.

"I have worked in places where people were comfortable but not truly cared for. I wanted to build a place where there was no difference between the two."
